What is the Nomad Digital Residence Visa ?
The Nomad Digital Residence Visa is for non – nationals employed outside of Antigua and Barbuda that allows the holder(s) and their dependent(s) to visit and work remotely in Antigua and Barbuda, for a two (2) year period.
What is the cost of the visa?
The visa categories are as follows:
  • Single - USD$1500.00
  • Couple (Applicant + 1 dependent) - USD$2000.00
  • Family (Applicant + up to 3 dependents) - USD$3000.00 (any additional persons USD $650.00 each)
Is there a processing fee?
The fees for the Visa are non-refundable and must be submitted upon application.
How long before I receive a response?
Once an application is submitted, you will receive a response within a 24 hour timeframe.
How long will it take for my application to be processed?
Once the requirements for supporting documents have been satisfied, applications are processed within 5-7 business days.
How will I know when my application is approved?
Upon approval, you will receive an email update along with a Travel Letter to facilitate entry into Antigua and Barbuda.
Can I complete the process entirely online?
The entire application process is completed online. Upon arrival into Antigua and Barbuda, you will be required to visit the NDR Office for the visa endorsement into your passport.
Once my application is approved, how soon before I can travel to Antigua and Barbuda?
Right Away! Your visa starts from the date of approval and for two (2) years thereafter.
What happens when I get to Antigua and Barbuda?
Upon arrival, all Covid19 protocols are to be observed. After which an appointment is scheduled with the NDR office for the visa to be endorsed into your passport.
Once my application is approved, when does the 2 year period begin?
The NDR visa period runs from the date of approval and for two (2) years thereafter.
I am self-employed. How do I demonstrate employment?
Documents required as proof of employment are Job letter, Salary payments, Business License, Bank Statement and Work permit (where applicable).
Will my family have to apply individually?
No. Your family would be considered dependents and can be included in the Family application type.
How many family members are allowed with the family visa?
A Family Visa consists of the main applicant plus 3 dependents. Additional family members can be added at an additional cost of US$650 per person.
Does the visa cover support staff/domestic workers?
Yes. Your support staff can be added as dependents.
As a pensioner, do I qualify for your programme?
The NDR visa is designed for persons who are employed outside of Antigua and Barbuda and can work remotely with the use of telecommunications technolgy.
What do I need to submit in order to satisfy the requirements for proof of funds?
Documents required to demonstrate proof of funds are pay stubs, and bank statement.
Can I send my tax returns as proof of funds?
Yes. However it is not a requirement.
Is the Visa renewable?
No. The visa cannot be renewed. The NDR Visa is valid for 2 years.
Is there a cap on the number of times the visa can be issued?
The visa can only be issued once.
Can the Visa be revoked?
Yes. Only if the holder of the visa (a) commits a crime (b) violates the terms of the Visa, or (c) is found to conduct themselves in a manner inimical to the country’s interests.
Why do I need to submit a Police certificate?
The police certificate is a requirement when applying for the Antigua and Barbuda Nomad Digital Visa. The certificate validates your character and provides any criminal record or lack thereof.
Does every person in the family require a Police Certificate?
The police certificate is required for every person over the age of 18 associated with the application.
Do I have to stay in Antigua and Barbuda for the entire 2 years or can I travel in and out of the island?
Holders of the NDR Visa are free to travel in and out of Antigua and Barbuda for the 2 year duration of the visa.
Do I need a return ticket to enter Antigua and Barbuda with the Nomad visa?
Yes. A return ticket is a requirement for all non-nationals.
Does the visa allow employment with an Antiguan Employer?
The Visa only allows the holder to work remotely for companies and individuals outside of Antigua and Barbuda.
Will I have to pay income taxes in Antigua and Barbuda?
No. The visa holder’s income tax affairs are entirely with his/her country of normal residence.
Education
Can my children attend school in Antigua and Barbuda?
Yes. But only private schools. Education is compulsory in Antigua and Barbuda for all children between the ages of 5 - 16. All children are required to be enrolled in school for the duration of the visa.

What is the procedure for enrolling my children in school in Antigua and Barbuda?
Once you have selected your private school of choice, you must apply for a student permit from the Antigua and Barbuda Department of Immigration.
Can my children attend the public schools in Antigua and Barbuda?
No.
Will I be required to pay additional fees to enroll my children in school?
All fees indicated by the educational institution of choice as well as the Student Permit fees mandated by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda must be paid.

Can I bring pets?
You are able to bring pets into Antigua and Barbuda but an import permit must be obtained from the Antiguan Chief Veterinary Officer. For more details click here.

Antigua has high-speed fibre internet with download/upload speeds up to 250 Mbps and 4G mobile services and 5G soon to come.

Public access WIFI spots are available throughout the island in numerous restaurants, and hotels and establishments.
Health and Insurance
What sort of insurance do I need?
For your insurance policy to meet the requirements of our Nomad Digital Residence Programme, it must include Travel Insurance and must provide coverage for the entire two (2) year stay.
Do my health benefits in my local country apply to any health care I may receive in Antigua and Barbuda?
The benefits you receive in your local country do not apply to any health services you may receive in the state of Antigua and Barbuda. This is why Traveler’s Insurance is a requirement for all persons who apply for our Nomad Residence Programme.
Do I need insurance before I arrive?
Yes. Medical Insurance and Travel Insurance for a period of 2 years, is a prerequisite to submitting an application.
Can I open a bank account in Antigua and Barbuda with this visa?
Yes.
Transportation
Can I purchase a car while I’m on the island?
Yes. There are a variety of dealership options to choose from.
What are the modes of transportation available?
Public and private taxi/bus services are readily available.
Religion
Is Antigua and Barbuda open to different Religions?
Antigua and Barbuda has no religious discrimination. It is predominantly a Christian society, with many Christian denominations and churches. However, persons, who follow other religions, such as Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Buddhism, live in Antigua and Barbuda and practice their religion.
